The church as viewed from the Southeast. The S chapel was
originally dated to the 16th century. However, in 1989, an exciting discovery of
wall paintings placed a much earlier date on the construction.

The S aisle. The arcading, which was responsible for the earlier dating of this S aisle, is clearly C16. However, as has been mentioned, it is now known that the S aisle is now much older than this. It is likely, therefore, that this aisle started life as a separate chapel, and that the arcade to connect it with the main church was installed in the 16th century.

This Kemp & Co. window depicts the crucifixion scene in three panels. It dated from 1928. Parts of the tracery itself, though, date from the 14th century. The window was given by Mrs Goodchild of Stock, whose husband had farmed locally. Until this window was installed, the east window had been blocked.

This window is very new, having been dedicated and blessed by the Bishop of Bradwell in February 2004. It depicts The Mayflower, and is in memory of Sammy Norris (1910-1978).

Part of the range of wall paintings that was discovered in 1989 by workmen. These paintings are responsible for the now much earlier date applied to the S aisle. The earliest of the paintings is dated 1320-1330. The paintings were conserved by Ann Ballantyne.
