St Mary (Old Church), Frinton-on-Sea Church - A very small, early C14, church, which, before the chancel was extended in 1879, was perhaps the smallest in the county. There has been talk of this being the smallest church in the country, though I am afraid this is not true. There are several churches that hold the claim to this record. A quick Google for the "smallest church in England" should shed some light!

Glass Images

St Mary (Old Church), Frinton-on-Sea Church - Here are four panels of Morris glass, designed by Burne-Jones. These are in the early style of the firm, pre-dating the domination of colour schemes with peacock blues and greens. Pevsner tells us that the window "is said to have come from Melchet Abbey, but was bought at a London sale by a donor to the church."
