St Mary, Corringham Church -

The tower is described by Pevsner as "one of the most
important Early Norman monuments in the county".
This un-buttressed tower has two tiers of large flat blank
niches below the parapet. The middle niche of the upper row on each side is
pierced, and has a colonnette set in, as can be seen from this image. These
pierced niches serve as a bell opening. The tower is topped by a pyramid roof.
