Back to St Clement's Church, Leigh-on-Sea

Image Description

St Clement's church is best approached from Church Hill. It is a steep climb, but is well worth it as the church suddenly appears from between the trees. Though I doubt this view is possible when that tree is somewhat leafier. The C15 west tower is diagonally buttressed. It has battlements, and the raised stair turret can clearly be seen in this picture. The tower has a west door, and a three-light west window.
