St Margaret of Antioch, Stanford-le-Hope Church – Exterior 1: The tower, dating from 1883, and the West front both hide a building that can be traced back to the 12th century. St Margaret of Antioch, Stanford-le-Hope Church – Exterior 2: This tower sits at the east end of the North Aisle. It is designed on the pattern of the tower at St Mary's, Prittlewell. This is now part of the inside walls of the church, in the nave, close to the chancel. This would, originally, have been one of the original external windows.
